Overton ISD is accepting applications for a General Maintenance Worker to join our Buildings and Grounds Department. This position plays an important role in maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept facilities for our students, staff, and community.
The successful candidate will perform general maintenance and repair of district facilities, building systems, and grounds under the supervision of the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

Perform general maintenance and repair of district buildings and facilities

Assist in maintaining and repairing building structures and components

Perform maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems throughout the district

Assist with preventative maintenance and routine inspections
-
Troubleshoot and address maintenance concerns in a timely manner

Support campus and district events through facility setup and related duties

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and orderly manner

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds

Experience in general maintenance, construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or related trades preferred

Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively

Working knowledge of building systems and repair practices preferred

Ability to lift, carry, climb, and perform physically demanding work in indoor and outdoor environments

Valid Texas driver’s license required

Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, and the public

Salary will be based on district pay scale and experience.
