Hey there! My name is Forest, one of the founders of Good Boy. We make premium, fresh dog food and are based here on O'ahu. Founded in January 2025, we have been growing quickly and are now looking for someone to join the team to help feed all the good boys and girls of O'ahu!
Overview
As an Assistant Dog Food Chef, you will be responsible for the various stages of preparing, cooking, and packaging our three recipes. You will be working in a commercial kitchen and will need to adhere to food safety standards. You should feel comfortable working independently, maybe have some kitchen experience, and have strong attention to detail. Bonus points if you happen to love dogs.
Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh out and prepare various ingredients.
- Operate commercial kitchen equipment including: Robot Coupe, Food Processor, Meat Grinder, Tilt Skillet, and Band Sealer.
- Execute the cooking process according to our recipes to ensure consistency and quality in every batch.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment throughout the shift.
- Carefully package finished product, ensuring cleanliness and proper presentation.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current Food Handler's License/Certification.
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen not necessary, but a big plus.
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
- Commitment to food safety practices.
- Ability to precisely follow recipe instructions.
- Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working with large quantities of raw meat (at times) - i.e., cutting and using a meat grinder.
Work Schedule
This will be 2 shifts per week to start, 14-16 hours. One of those will be on Monday. There is some flexibility with the other shift that can be mutually agreed upon. There is opportunity to grow with the business.
