Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and personable Bartender/Catering Service Worker to join our hospitality team. This role involves preparing and serving beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting catering events with professionalism and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food and beverage service, with experience in fine dining, craft beer, cocktails, and wine. Key responsibilities include crafting high-quality drinks, managing POS transactions accurately, assisting with catering setup and service, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Previous experience with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is preferred, along with a solid foundation in hospitality industry practices.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, wine, craft beers, and non-alcoholic options while adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Manage cash handling and processing transactions efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS.
- Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests professionally, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a memorable experience.
- Support catering events by setting up stations, serving food and beverages, and assisting with event logistics to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar areas, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards.
- Develop new beverage recipes to enhance menu offerings and meet customer preferences.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of spirits, wines, beers, mixers, and garnishes; place orders as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service delivery during busy periods while demonstrating excellent multitasking abilities.
- Uphold all health and safety protocols related to food handling, alcohol service, and sanitation practices.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues in daily operations and catering functions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bartender or catering service worker within the hospitality industry; fine dining or banquet experience is highly desirable.
- Extensive knowledge of mixology techniques, beverage recipes, spirits, wine varieties, and brewing processes.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for processing sales accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management.
- Food safety certification or knowledge of proper food handling procedures is preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and special events.
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating professionalism and reliability.
