Duties
- Dispense medications accurately while adhering to all legal, safety, and quality standards, including compounding medications when necessary.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, considering physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and individual health needs.
- Provide expert consultation on medication administration, pain management, and
- Utilize pharmacy software systems (DigitalRX) to document prescriptions, monitor medication histories, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with medical teams on medical management plans for complex cases involving pediatrics or critical care patients.
- Support pharmacy technicians by providing guidance on medication preparation, and pharmacy operations to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient service.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunizations, medication administration protocols, and hospital policies related to pharmacy practice.
- Participate in patient care initiatives such as medication reconciliation, patient education on drug therapies, and assessments for potential drug interactions or contraindications.
Qualifications
- Valid pharmacist license with current registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Extensive knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pharmacology principles essential for effective patient assessment.
- Experience with immunizations administration
- Ability to perform patient assessments confidently and communicate complex medical information clearly.
- Prior experience working with pharmacy technicians to coordinate medication preparation and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
