Objective:
Ensure Battery Programs execution: the Battery Assistant Family Manager leads all cross functional aspects of battery platform programs to achieve targets (timing, cost, performance, quality), according to the approved Initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to ensure that programs targets (timing, cost, performance, quality) are met
- Manages cross functional meetings for their respective program(s) such as:
- Battery AFM Project Management Meetings (a weekly working level meeting covering all aspects of Timing, Cost & Quality of the battery program)
- Program Status Review Meetings (bi-weekly PCMP Director review)
- Program Review Meetings (a 4-6 weeks cadence director-level review of the program)
- Management Review (MR) meetings (PSKs, KPI content, cadence driven by the program timing and Global Program Development (GPD) – a VP-level meeting].
Throughout the readying for & conducting of these meetings, battery family managers are required to identify & resolve or escalate issues to management for aid in resolution – any issues thought to impede program progress.
- Ensures that Platform team engagement, program planning and execution is aligned with Propulsion Systems Development Process and battery needs.
- Responsible for Battery Family initiative preparation and leading cross-functional department information/data collection
- Manages Product lifecycle, including Quality Improvement activities and supports Supply Chain and Logistics to guarantee production continuity.
- Coordinates the collection of inputs and approves the responses to investigate/action bulletins related to product/process changes.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of technical engineering work and project management type work combined. Includes a minimum of 2 years in powertrain DRE or DSE role.
- Proficient in navigation of the various STLA systems and processes [i.e. GBS, GIMS, CCD system, CN system, PTPE, PentaSAP, S2irius, Warranty]
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, self-starter, and strong independent leadership skills. A “can-do” work attitude.
- Excellent communication skills: both verbal and written.
- Excellent presentation skills: development, and delivery.
Preferred Requirements:
- Program Management Professional - PgMP issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
- Advanced degree (Master of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, MBA) from accredited university
- Prior experience in hybrids, HV batteries or the electrification of propulsion systems
