We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our Basalt team.
Position Overview
The Optometric Technician works directly with our doctors to ensure efficient clinic flow and a polished, seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out.
This role requires strong communication skills, technical precision, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary testing (autorefraction, lensometry, OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging, etc.)
- Accurately document findings in EHR
- Assist doctors during patient exams
- Conduct contact lens training and patient education
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain equipment
- Support front desk workflow as needed
- Deliver a warm, professional, and efficient patient experience
Qualifications
- Prior optometric, ophthalmic, or medical office experience preferred
- Experience is not required — we are willing to train the right candidate
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional communication skills
- Comfortable using technology and electronic health record systems
- Team-oriented mindset
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
Starting pay is based on prior experience, skill level, and ability to work independently. Candidates with strong optometric or ophthalmic experience may be offered at the higher end of the range.
