Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Industrial Engineer to join our team in Rocky Mount, NC. In this role, you will help design, improve, and install the integrated manufacturing systems that bring together people, materials, equipment, and information to keep engine assembly running safely and efficiently. Working hands-on across the plant floor, you will own process documentation, standard work, and PFMEAs while applying Lean tools, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methods to cut cycle time, labor, and material-handling cost.
You will pair a working knowledge of AutoCAD and layout/simulation software with strong data-analysis skills to model processes, optimize plant layout and space utilization, and support Value Stream Mapping and new line introductions. Success in this role means turning production data into practical, validated improvements that raise productivity and quality across the operation.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Maintain process documentation, standard work, and PFMEAs that keep engine assembly consistent and audit-ready.
- Optimize plant layout and space utilization to improve flow and make the best use of available floor space.
- Lead Value Stream Mapping and transformation projects that expose and eliminate waste across production.
- Deliver cost-reduction projects spanning labor, material handling, and cycle time to strengthen operational margins.
- Drive Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives that lift productivity and build a lasting continuous-improvement culture.
- Support new product and line introductions, validating processes before they scale to full production.
- Design safe, ergonomic workstations that reduce injury risk and improve operator effectiveness.
- Analyze make-vs-buy decisions with sound data to guide component and sub-assembly sourcing.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Strong working knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and continuous-improvement methodologies such as Kaizen and Six Sigma.
- Hands-on familiarity with AutoCAD or similar layout tools and manufacturing simulation software.
- Proficiency with data-analysis tools to translate production data into decisions and measurable improvements.
- The ability to manage multiple process and cost-reduction projects at once in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level of relevant work experience required. 0-2 years in a manufacturing or operations environment (automotive preferred).
