As part of our continued expansion, we are building our product development capability in Los Angeles and are seeking a Product Development & Design Manager to support new product initiatives.

This is an in-person role based in our Los Angeles office.
Position Summary
The Product Development & Design Manager is responsible for supporting and managing product development and design activities from concept to production.
This role requires both hands-on design capability and project coordination skills, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams. The position also includes mentoring junior team members and supporting team development as the function grows.
The ideal candidate has strong product design experience and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage product development projects from concept to production
- Design and develop new vehicle or component concepts based on market and business needs
- Translate product concepts into design specifications and technical requirements
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product feasibility
- Coordinate project timelines and track development progress
- Participate in product testing, validation, and improvement cycles
- Collaborate with cross-regional or overseas teams when needed
- Provide guidance and support to junior designers or team members
- Ensure product designs meet cost, quality, and manufacturability targets
- Stay informed on industry trends in automotive, LSV, and mobility products
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in product development, industrial design, or related fields
- Experience in automotive, mobility, electric vehicle, or hardware products preferred
- Strong product design capability and understanding of development processes
- Ability to manage projects independently
- Experience mentoring or guiding team members is a plus
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a plus but not required
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar)
- Experience in vehicle or mechanical design
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle
