Associate Structural Engineer
Description of Responsibilities
Reports to the president or principal engineer
Manages projects, people and data collection
Responsible for the successful completion of assigned project workload
Project responsibilities include:
Analyzing scope of work, proposing new work, controlling job costs to stay within budget, doing client billing, and maintaining client contact
Client billing and job costs must be maintained to stay within expectations established in the clients budgeted contract proposal
Coordinate project activities with the clients representatives, visit project sites as required, (some out of state travel may be required)
Responsible for project team (engineers, surveyors, consultants, and technicians)
Maintain and schedule all field and office activities of project personnel to deliver work on time to client
Design and draft plans, prepare specifications and cost estimates
Represent or assist client in obtaining permits or public approvals
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
A minimum of four years of post graduate civil engineering experience
Registered civil engineer in the State of California (or qualified to immediately obtain registration)
Skilled in the use of computer technology including MS Office Professional, AutoCAD, Softdesk, Windows NT, and many engineering programs
Skilled at managing projects to assure quality in the delivered product, stay on schedule and within the project budget
Ability to manage client and staff relationships to maintain activity and not promise work too soon.
Possess very good communication skills, both verbally and written.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with clients, sub-consultants, public agencies, commercial vendors and staff
Demonstrable competent technical and design skills in areas of desired experience.

Work additional hours as may be required to keep projects on schedule and under budget
Trouble shoot specific problems and changes to the projected workload
Compensation Range: $55,000/yr - $80,000/yr Salary
