OrthoArizona Scottdale Surgery, an HonorHealth -Sovereign Healthcare joint-venture free-standing ambulatory surgery center located in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Instrument Technician. · Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts: no nights, no call, or holidays
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accepts delegation, instruction and supervision from the Operating Room Manager and ensures proper care and handling of all surgical instruments including the cleaning, assembly, preparation, and packaging, and sterilization. Must be proactive and flexible in daily duties.
Skills and Requirements
- Basic Life Support
- Physical Requirements: Good visual acuity, accurate color vision. Ability to lift 25-pound instrument trays. Ability to push heavy equipment on wheels within the OR suite. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine finger movement and feel fine sensation to discern temperature, texture, size, and shape. Ability to speak and hear.
Additional Qualifications:
- Accepts delegation, instruction and supervision form the Operating Room Charge Nurse or the person authorized to delegate tasks.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.
- Assist with stocking supplies in SPD.
- Assist in the cleaning of the work areas during and the end of the shift.
- Assist in weekly and monthly cleaning.
- Assists in the review of upcoming surgery schedule to ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available.
- Work cooperatively and maintain communication with the operating room team, surgeons, nurses, patient representatives and the administrative staff.
