Job Description:
We are seeking experienced and dedicated Respiratory Therapists to join our ambulance-based critical care transport team. As a Respiratory Therapist at American Professional Ambulance, you'll deliver advanced respiratory care and monitoring to critically ill patients during transport, ensuring seamless care from pickup to destination.
Responsibilities:
- Administer advanced respiratory interventions and treatments during transport
- Monitor and manage ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines, and other respiratory equipment
- Evaluate patient respiratory status and respond rapidly to emergent changes
- Collaborate closely with EMTs, paramedics, nurses, and physicians
- Document patient care accurately and comprehensively
Qualifications:
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in California
- Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory care, critical care experience preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience with ambulance or emergency transport highly desirable
- Ability to manage stress effectively and make critical decisions rapidly
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient care skills

Pay: $140.00 - $400.00 per day

Application Question(s):
- Do you have a minimum of two years respiratory care experience in an
acute care or respiratory care hospital, relevant to the type of SCT
transports the RCP will provide (pediatric vs. adults), within 18
months prior to employment as a transport RCP or have
successfully passed the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS)
Examination and are in good standing with the National Board for
Respiratory Care (NBRC).
License/Certification:
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (Required)
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (Preferred)
