Anderson & Whitney is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant who is motivated to deepen technical expertise, build client relationships, and grow into a leadership role within our firm. This position offers exposure to complex tax work, structured development, and a clear path for advancement for candidates pursuing or who already have their CPA.
This is a full-time role requiring approximately 2,200 annual hours, including 50-hour workweeks during tax season.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and fiduciary entities
- Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in tax engagements
- Perform tax research and apply IRS regulations and evolving tax law
- Develop advanced technical knowledge in:
* Taxation for Real estate, Agricultural, Oil and Gas, Construction, Government, Health Care, Manufacturing, Non-Profit and Services for Retailers and Wholesalers.
* Passive activity and at-risk rules
* Multi-state taxation
* Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT)
* State and Local Tax (SALT)
* Fiduciary and beneficiary taxation
- Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact
- Communicate clearly and concisely with clients and internal teams
- Contribute to staff development, mentoring, and knowledge sharing
- Stay current with tax law changes through continuing education and training
- Demonstrate compliance with firm standards and best practices
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of public accounting tax experience required
- CPA license or actively pursuing CPA is a plus
- Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state taxation
- Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism, ownership, and accountability
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills with a client-service mindset

Compensation
- Competitive salary based on experience
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
