We are seeking applications for a part-time Student Research Assistant position as part of an NIH-funded research project in Dr. Kristen Muller’s research lab in the Department of Audiology & Speech Pathology. The project evaluates the feasibility of using eye-tracking technology to measure word understanding skills in autistic children who are non-speaking or minimally verbal. This position is an opportunity to learn about and contribute to research on autism, language assessment, and eye-tracking. This position is set to begin in Summer 2026. Start date is flexible depending on availability.
Bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, health sciences, psychology, biological sciences, or a related field is required.
Relevant work or clinical experience is preferred.
Must be a student at UAMS.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Complete training modules for eye-tracking hardware and software
Help administer behavioral, cognitive, and language assessments to autisticchildren
Assist with community advisory board meetings
Assist with data collection and data entry
Collaborate with research team members
Prepare materials to utilize during eye-tracking assessments
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Work 10 hours a week
Perform other duties as assigned to support the project
Salary Information:
$16/hr
