Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients and their property. This role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The Armed Security Officer will utilize their skills in surveillance, conflict management, and law enforcement to effectively deter criminal activity and provide peace of mind.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to deter and detect signs of intrusion or suspicious activity.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and CCTV systems to ensure the safety of the premises.
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or emergencies while following established protocols.
- Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify potential security risks.
- Enforce rules and regulations while providing excellent customer service to clients and visitors.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, observations, and activities for management review.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary to address security concerns.
- Provide first aid and CPR assistance as needed in emergency situations.
- Participate in ongoing training programs related to loss prevention, conflict management, and other relevant areas.
- EXPECTATIONS While Alo’s expectations are set with guards at the time of their assignment to Alo, the store leadership team is accountable for ensuring those expectations are maintained. General Expectations - Arrive prior to the start of their shift and leave personal belongings in a locker. - Check in with the FEL and confirm break times based on zoning for the day. - Confirm how the need for guard intervention may be needed. - Obtain a walkie talkie and maintain it on the main store channel. - Post at the main entrance to the store for the purpose of providing visual deterrence. - Remain alert and aware of suspicious behaviors and intervene with recovery statements where needed. - Personal mobile devices such as cell phones may be used only in case of an emergency. - Acknowledge guests as they enter the store, open, and hold doors to aid guest entry/exit into the building.
Skills
- Valid security officer certification or equivalent training is preferred.
- Proficient in surveillance techniques and loss prevention strategies.
- Knowledgeable in first aid and CPR practices.
- Background in law enforcement or military service is advantageous.
- Experience operating CCTV systems effectively.
- Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Excellent observational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while making sound decisions.
