Responsibilities
- Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement
- Maintain open communication with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
- Support children with special needs by implementing individualized strategies in collaboration with specialists when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational, daycare, camp, or babysitting settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development best practices
- Skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques to foster a positive environment
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; training can be provided if needed
- Experience with special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus
- Ability to engage children through creative activities such as theater, sports coaching, or arts and crafts
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents, colleagues, and children
