Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Auto Body Helper to support our technicians in a fast-paced collision repair shop. In this role, you will assist with vehicle prep, sanding, detailing, parts handling, and general shop support to keep repairs moving efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build hands-on experience in the auto body industry, work alongside skilled technicians, and grow their skills over time. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Must be Tech savvy, use all available software.
Responsibilities
- Prep vehicles for repair and paint, including masking, sanding, and cleaning surfaces.
- Assist technicians with panel removal, reassembly, and general repair support.
- Handle sanding tools and basic hand/power tools to prepare panels and surfaces.
- Detail vehicles after repairs to ensure a clean, finished appearance.
- Receive, organize, and deliver parts and supplies to technicians as needed.
- Move and position vehicles within the shop safely (parking, staging for repair/paint bays).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools and equipment.
- Support the team with other general shop duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Some experience in an auto body shop, dealership, or similar automotive environment preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of experienced technicians.
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, sanding tools, and shop equipment.
- Ability to safely operate tools and handle heavy lifting tasks when necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred (for moving vehicles within the shop/lot).
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
