Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with the ability to work on various types of heavy equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively while ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Repair and maintain air brake systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Fabricate parts as needed, utilizing welding and soldering techniques.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time spent on repairs.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in diesel mechanics.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics to effectively troubleshoot issues.
- Experience working with crane systems and Caterpillar machinery is a plus.
- Ability to fabricate components using welding and soldering techniques.
- Familiarity with air brake systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is essential for this role.
