Duties
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions, including mobility, strength, and functional abilities
- Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy, orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, geriatrics, and inpatient rehabilitation methods
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers to coordinate patient care strategies
- Manage clinical documentation standards accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems and electronic medical records (EMR) systems to ensure compliance and seamless communication
- Assist with discharge planning by preparing patients for home & community care settings and providing education on exercises and injury prevention
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans to optimize outcomes in outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home health environments
- Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy techniques, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and self-care practices to promote independence
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in the applicable jurisdiction
- Proven experience practicing in a physical therapy role within outpatient clinics, inpatient hospitals, or home health settings
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, neurology, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective treatment plans based on individual assessments and clinical evidence
- Experience with outpatient rehabilitation center environments and inpatient hospital experience preferred
- Proficiency in managing electronic health records (EHR) systems and EMR systems with attention to detail in documentation standards
- Excellent client communication skills to foster trust and motivate patients throughout their rehabilitation process
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across healthcare settings to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Knowledge of discharge planning procedures and working with geriatric patients is highly desirable
