Vocational Nursing (VN) Instructor

Position Summary
CyberTex Institute of Technology is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Vocational
Nursing (VN) Instructor to provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in the
Vocational Nursing Program. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction,
supporting student success, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and
contributing to ongoing program development and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide didactic, laboratory, and/or clinical instruction in assigned Vocational Nursing courses
· Supervise and guide nursing students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings to ensure safe and effective learning experiences
· Monitor and document student attendance, academic progress, and clinical performance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
· Promote a positive, supportive, and student-centered learning environment that fosters critical thinking and clinical competency
· Participate in the development, implementation, and revision of curriculum, including course materials, exams, and clinical evaluation tools
· Ensure compliance with Texas Board of Nursing (BON) rules and regulations, as well as institutional and accreditation standards
· Assist with student advising, remediation, and mentoring to support retention and successful program completion
· Collaborate with program leadership in the selection and evaluation of clinical sites and student clinical placements
· Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development activities
· Maintain required records, reports, and documentation in accordance with institutional policies
· Support program initiatives, including accreditation preparation, reporting, and continuous quality improvement efforts
· Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
· Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, preferably with varied clinical background
· Prior teaching or training experience in a nursing or healthcare setting preferred
· Strong knowledge of vocational nursing education standards and BON regulations
· Demonstrated ability to engage students and facilitate learning in diverse environments
· Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic setting
