Central is a small (but growing) private school located in the Church Hill area of downtown Richmond and has offered authentic Montessori education since 2007. Our program serves families and students from four months of age through middle school in our mixed-aged classrooms. We have about 150 students in our three buildings on our downtown campus and growing.
We are looking for the right candidate to work with our skilled staff caring for infant- primary aged students in our mixed-aged classrooms. Professionalism, kindness, consistency, maturity, attention to detail, and interest in ongoing learning are required for any team member in our program.
Please note that Montessorians are always in the mix of children and do not sit for long periods of time. Working with young children requires many hours of standing, bending, walking, and lifting. Staff must be able to provide for the safety and well-being of students in accordance with Virginia State Standards for Licensed Childcare centers and schools.
Although this position does not require Montessori certification, we are committed to delivering authentic Montessori education and offer comprehensive training on Montessori practices. There are opportunities for professional advancement and training sponsorship for the right staff members seeking to grow further in their profession.
We are an authentic Montessori program and an American Montessori Society member. Our lead educators are trained through MACTE and AMS-accredited training programs.
