Job Summary
The Front Desk Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our medical clinic. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming environment, managing patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, taking payments and ensuring smooth communication between patients, providers, and staff. The ideal candidate will be professional, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have exceptional customer service, be detail oriented, professional and mature.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a friendly and professional manner.
- Answer multi-line phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments.
- Verify insurance information and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and staff.
- Assist with patient forms, intake documentation, and necessary follow-up.
- Handle patient check-out, scheduling of follow-up visits, and referrals.
- Maintain the front desk area in a clean, organized, and professional manner.
- Support clinic operations by assisting with administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or medical office certification preferred.
- 3-5+ year of experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and EMR systems preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
