Job Overview
Duncan Transportation is seeking an experienced and dependable Bus & Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our growing transportation fleet.
Our fleet includes motor coach buses, school buses, passenger vans, and other commercial transportation vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine fleet inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Repair and service brakes, suspension, steering, engines, electrical systems, and other vehicle components
- Perform oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and scheduled maintenance
- Identify safety concerns before vehicles are placed into service
- Assist with DOT-related vehicle inspections and compliance
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
- Keep buses safe, reliable, and ready for scheduled routes and charters
- Communicate immediately with management regarding vehicles that should be placed out of service
Qualifications
- Previous diesel, bus, truck, or commercial fleet mechanic experience preferred
- Experience with motor coaches and/or school buses strongly preferred
- Knowledge of diesel engines and commercial vehicle systems
- Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must provide or have access to appropriate mechanic tools
- ASE certifications are a plus
- CDL is a plus
