Project Executive – Electrical Construction
Gross Electric, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Executive to provide senior-level leadership across large, complex electrical construction projects and key client accounts.
The Project Executive will oversee multiple project teams and be accountable for the overall financial performance, execution, client satisfaction, risk management, and successful delivery of assigned projects. This individual will lead and mentor Project Managers while working closely with Operations Managers, Superintendents, Project Controls, Purchasing, VDC, QA/QC, Safety, and executive leadership.
This is a leadership position for someone who understands how to successfully execute large-scale electrical construction projects and can develop both projects and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight for multiple electrical construction projects and project teams
- Maintain overall accountability for project profitability, schedule, cash flow, risk, and client satisfaction
- Lead Project Managers and ensure consistent project management standards across assigned projects
- Review project financials, cost forecasts, labor performance, productivity, committed costs, and projected margins
- Conduct regular project reviews and challenge teams on cost-to-complete projections and potential exposure
- Identify project risks early and develop corrective action plans with project leadership
- Oversee project schedules, manpower planning, procurement, long-lead equipment, and major milestones
- Ensure project teams maintain accurate change management and aggressively identify, price, document, and resolve changes
- Assist with major change orders, claims, schedule impacts, and contract disputes
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, General Contractors/Construction Managers, engineers, trade partners, and other key stakeholders
- Serve as an executive-level point of contact for strategic clients
- Participate in project kickoff, major milestone, executive review, and closeout meetings
- Ensure project teams are effectively utilizing Gross Electric's VDC/BIM, prefabrication, purchasing, project controls, QA/QC, commissioning, and safety resources
- Work with field leadership to ensure project management and field operations remain aligned
- Mentor and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers
- Assist with staffing decisions and succession planning across assigned projects
- Participate in preconstruction, project pursuits, interviews, and major proposal efforts
- Review contracts and identify commercial and operational risks before and during project execution
- Help establish and improve company-wide project management and operational standards
- Support the transition of projects from estimating/preconstruction through operations and final closeout
Project Financial Leadership
The Project Executive will be expected to have a strong understanding of the financial side of construction and maintain visibility into:
- Original contract value and current contract value
- Approved and pending change orders
- Labor productivity and manpower performance
- Material and subcontract commitments
- Cost-to-complete forecasting
- Projected gross margin
- Billing and cash flow
- Accounts receivable
- Schedule exposure
- Contingency and project risk
- Claims and unresolved commercial issues
The Project Executive should be able to look at a project forecast and understand the story behind the numbers, identify potential problems, and challenge the project team when necessary.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of electrical construction or closely related MEP construction experience preferred
- Significant experience managing large and complex construction projects
- Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, Operations Manager, or similar leadership position
- Strong understanding of electrical construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations
- Demonstrated experience managing project financials and forecasting
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, change management, and risk management
- Experience managing and developing Project Managers and project teams
- Ability to communicate effectively with field personnel, executives, owners, and General Contractors
- Strong leadership, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
Experience delivering projects within one or more of the following markets is strongly preferred:
- Semiconductor

- Advanced Manufacturing
- Healthcare
- Large Industrial Facilities
- Mission Critical Facilities
