Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and guide them to their tables with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff and bartender.
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell items like cocktails, wines, or desserts to enhance the dining experience
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Handle sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling and processing credit card payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld during food handling, serving, and bussing duties
- Assist with food preparation, table clearing, bussing, and supporting kitchen staff when needed to maintain smooth operations
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly and courteously
Skills
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of alcohol service including cocktail preparation, spirits experience, wine knowledge, and responsible serving practices
- Ability to upsell menu items naturally to increase sales while enhancing guest satisfaction
- Basic math skills for accurate bill calculation and cash handling
- Team-oriented mindset with experience in serving, bussing, host/hostess duties, or supporting kitchen operations
