Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (approximately 13–14 hours per week)
Job Description: We’re seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient aide to provide one-on-one support to a 9-year-old fourth-grade student with autism during the school day. The aide will accompany him at school, help him stay engaged and focused, and support classroom routines and transitions.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-on-one support throughout the school day
- Helping with focus, attention, and classroom participation
- Encouraging positive social interactions and appropriate communication
- Assisting with transitions between activities and classroom routines
- Providing basic academic support appropriate for a fourth-grade student, including reading, English, and math
- Helping reinforce basic academic concepts and assisting with schoolwork in a patient and encouraging manner
- Communicating with the teacher and parents as needed
- Supporting a positive, respectful, and encouraging school experience
No prior autism experience is required. Guidance and support will be provided.
Qualifications:
- Reliable, patient, kind, and comfortable working with children
- Basic knowledge of fourth-grade academics, particularly reading, English, and math
- Able to explain basic academic concepts clearly and patiently
- Comfortable working in a Catholic school environment and respectful of the school’s Catholic educational values
- Must be able to pass any required school background screening
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Previous experience as a teacher’s aide, nanny, behavioral aide, caregiver, tutor, or childcare provider is preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
