Responsibilities May Include
Depending on the position, responsibilities include:
- Performing field surveys of utility poles and overhead facilities.
- Collecting pole data using utility engineering software and field devices.
- Designing Make Ready solutions for communication attachments.
- Performing Joint Use engineering and pole attachment analysis.
- Reviewing existing pole attachments for NESC compliance.
- Preparing construction-ready engineering packages.
- Completing pole loading analysis and engineering calculations.
- Developing construction estimates and work packages.
- Reviewing engineering packages for quality assurance and quality control.
- Processing attachment applications and utility records.
- Preparing and submitting permit packages and coordinating with municipalities, DOT agencies, railroads, and utility owners.
- Tracking permit status and resolving permitting issues to keep projects on schedule.
- Coordinating with utility companies, contractors, municipalities, and project managers.
- Managing Joint Use and Make Ready projects from initiation through completion.

- Utility Construction Review
- QA/QC Engineering
- Pole Loading Analysis
- IKE GPS / IKE Office Pro and/or Katapult / Katapult Pro
- O-Calc or SPIDAcalc or PoleForman
- GIS and CAD platforms
- Electric utility engineering standards
Qualifications
- Utility engineering or telecommunications experience required.
- Strong understanding of overhead electric distribution systems.
- Familiarity with utility construction standards and NESC requirements.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
