POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the design, automation, and ongoing administration of the credit union’s information systems infrastructure focused around the Microsoft technology stack including on premise, SaaS, and cloud technologies. This role combines systems engineering and architectural planning with technical leadership and hands-on administration. Lead by example in driving infrastructure modernization, automation, performance optimization, and secure operations across the environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with business needs and IT strategy.
2. Serve as technical liaison to Service Desk staff.
3. Serve as Senior Administrator for access control, alarm, camera, and phone systems.
4. Support initiatives to facilitate infrastructure deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance using tools such as PowerShell and other scripting platforms.
5. Administer and optimize Microsoft infrastructure components including O365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Windows Server roles, etc. in an environment that requires 24/7/365 operations and uptime.
6. Develop and enforce infrastructure architecture standards, including system hardening, patching, backup, and monitoring.
7. Use automation to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, and ensure repeatability of system provisioning and maintenance tasks.
8. Monitor system health and performance, performing capacity planning and proactive maintenance to avoid service disruptions.
9. Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure designs, configurations, automated workflows, and recovery procedures.
10. Lead infrastructure-related components of enterprise projects, including planning, execution, and cross-functional coordination.
11. Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity strategies, including automated backup/recovery solutions and DR site failover readiness.
12. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to increase infrastructure agility, automation capabilities, and cybersecurity maturity.
13. Collaborate closely with cybersecurity, support teams, and third-party partners to ensure infrastructure meets business, compliance, and security requirements.
14. Support the secure evaluation, implementation, and administration of approved AI-enabled tools and Microsoft AI capabilities in alignment with AI governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and business requirements.
15. Maintain documentation of approved AI tools, integrations, configurations, access controls, and operational use cases to support audit readiness, risk management, and vendor oversight.
16. Collaborate with Information Security, Compliance, and business units to ensure AI-enabled technologies are deployed with appropriate data protection, monitoring, and user guardrails.
17. Maintain knowledge of and comply with regulatory requirements such as the Bank Secrecy Act as well as credit union security protocols as it relates to this position.

- Competence in documenting system architecture, procedures, and automated workflows with precision.
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft infrastructure technologies including O365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server roles.
- In-depth knowledge of VMware virtualization platforms
- Strong understanding of infrastructure automation using PowerShell and other scripting languages or orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of system architecture best practices including system hardening, patching, backup strategies, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with database administration tasks such as backups, patching, and performance monitoring.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and IT governance frameworks applicable to regulated environments (e.g., NCUA, FFIEC).
- Awareness of emerging technologies and trends in infrastructure, automation, and cloud computing especially involving Microsoft products.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field required. (A combination of education and equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.) Minimum of three years’ experience in IT infrastructure engineering or systems administration, with progressive responsibility in Microsoft, virtualization, and cloud environments. Minimum of two years’ experience leading or designing enterprise infrastructure projects. Proven experience with: Microsoft O365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server roles Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., financial services) and knowledge of IT governance, compliance, and security best practices preferred.
Preferred certifications include the following: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or similar; Microsoft PowerShell or similar; CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+, or similar; ITIL® Foundation Certification.
