Overview
The Iron Kettle Landmark Restaurant has a rich history where generations of customers have made memories with family and friends. We are locally owned and offer high-quality meals prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients. Ownership is passionate about maintaining a fun work environment, offering extremely friendly customer service, and serving high-quality food. We have an immediate need to hire an experienced server. The successful applicant MUST have weekday and weekend availability. Additionally, he/she must be dependable and have reliable transportation to work. We will only hire individuals who are experienced, dependable and who have an outgoing, positive attitude. This is not an entry-level server position and verifiable work history as a server is necessary. Experience in a high-volume restaurant is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Be highly knowledgeable of the menu and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using our POS system
- Provide service and interact with customers with a positive attitude
- Process cash and credit card transactions and gratuities accurately.
- Demonstrate excellent personal hygiene
- Arrive timely for each shift, recognizing the designated start time is the time when you are prepared and ready to begin work, not simply arriving to work.
- Process cash sales using an individual server bank that is self-funded and maintained with coin and bills
- Submit exact cash sales to "the house" at the end of each shift
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Buss, clean, sanitize, restock and reset tables
- Restock server stations and refrigerators, roll silverware and complete daily checklists
- Work independently during non-peak hours and collaboratively with other service staff during peak hours
- Refrain from cell phone use during your shift unless absolutely necessary. Excessive/routine use is not permitted
- Maintain availability to be scheduled for shifts as agreed upon and not submit excessive time off requests
Skills
- Extensive experience in food service within a restaurant or hospitality environment is necessary to be successful in this position
- Proficiency with POS systems. Experience with our exact POS system (Shift4) is not necessary.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly attitude that fosters guest loyalty
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining genuine guest engagement
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and managing guest checks seamlessly
- Knowledge of food safety practices including proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Ability to work with others in a positive, upbeat manner
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
