Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide expert mental health counseling services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your primary focus will be delivering evidence-based therapies, conducting comprehensive assessments, and developing personalized treatment plans to promote mental well-being. Duties
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety during urgent situations.
- Facilitate specialized counseling services, including grief counseling, PTSD care, ,gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology effectively for accurate case management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management and coordinate care plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling sessions, ensuring accessibility for clients with mobility or transportation challenges.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable, contributing to data collection efforts that support continuous improvement of treatment approaches.
Skills
- Proven expertise in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychopharmacology integration.
- Strong proficiency in motivational interviewing and social work principles to foster client engagement and motivation for change.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Skilled in crisis management, crisis intervention, behavior management, and trauma-informed care, including PTSD and grief counseling.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for intake interviews, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with telehealth technology platforms to deliver effective remote mental health services.
- Commitment to ethical standards including HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
- Experience working within behavioral health settings, such as outpatient clinics or hospital environments; inpatient experience is advantageous.
