Are you passionate about pet health and the power of raw, species-appropriate nutrition? We are a dedicated raw pet food store in Oakland, and we are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Full-Time Retail Sales & Marketing Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will be the face of our store. You will independently manage the storefront, educate pet parents on the benefits of raw feeding, create engaging social media content, and meticulously pack online/delivery orders. Key Responsibilities
- Consultative Sales & Education: Independently run the storefront, welcome customers (and their pets!), and confidently educate pet parents on raw food, supplements, and tailored nutrition plans.
- Social Media & Marketing: Create fun, educational, and engaging content for our social media channels (Instagram/TikTok) to demystify raw feeding, showcase products, and drive local foot traffic.
- Order Fulfillment & Detail: Review, accurately pick, and pack raw food orders for local pickup or delivery. This requires high attention to detail and standard safety protocols for handling frozen/fresh food.
- Inventory & Merchandising: Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic shop. Keep freezers stocked, monitor inventory levels, and accept deliveries.
Qualifications & Skills
- Passion for Pet Nutrition: A strong, genuine interest in canine and feline health, raw feeding, or holistic pet wellness. Prior knowledge is a major plus, but a strong willingness to learn is required.
- Independent Worker: Proven ability to work autonomously, manage your time effectively, and open/close the shop responsibly.
- Marketing & Social Media Savvy: Experience navigating social platforms and basic content creation tools (like Canva) to build community engagement.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized: High level of accuracy when checking order sheets and handling inventory. Must be comfortable lifting boxes/bags up to [e.g., 30-50] lbs and working around frozen products.
- Customer-First Attitude: Friendly, empathetic, and patient when guiding pet parents through nutritional transitions.
Schedule & Flexibility
- Full-Time: 40 hours per week.
- Weekend Availability: Weekend shifts are required, but we offer flexibility and a collaborative scheduling approach around weekend rotations.
