Job Summary
Join our compassionate team as a Funeral Director, where you will lead the planning and coordination of funeral services with professionalism, empathy, and meticulous attention to detail. You will oversee all aspects of funeral arrangements, from initial client consultation to the final service, embodying a commitment to dignity and support for grieving families. Responsibilities
- Consult with families to understand their wishes and provide compassionate bereavement support throughout the funeral planning process
- Coordinate funeral arrangements, including scheduling services, managing logistics, and liaising with clergy or celebrants
- Prepare and handle deceased persons with care, applying embalming techniques and cosmetic application to ensure respectful presentation
- Perform manual handling and heavy lifting safely when transferring or preparing bodies for viewing or cremation
- Operate company vehicles for transportation of remains and equipment in compliance with safety regulations
- Oversee cremation procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and environmental standards
- Maintain detailed records using funeral service technology systems, including documentation of client interactions and service plans
- Provide clear communication to clients regarding funeral options, pricing, and post-service support
- Manage funeral event planning from setup to execution, ensuring smooth operations and respectful atmosphere at all times
Experience
- Proven experience in funeral directing
- Knowledge of cosmetic application for deceased persons, and sanitation practices
- Familiarity with cremation processes and related legal requirements
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple services simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to bereavement support
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual handling, dissection tasks, and standing for extended periods
- Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely is required
