Step into a dynamic role supporting K-8 students as a dedicated school psychologist in a thriving educational environment near Chicago, IL. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact through meaningful collaboration, focusing primarily on IEP evaluations within inclusive (LRE1) and self-contained (LRE2) settings. You’ll work closely with the Dean of Specialized Services, enabling a collaborative, supportive experience as you support students’ diverse needs.
The schedule begins at 2-3 days per week (roughly 20-30 hours) for the first few months, transitioning to 1 day per week (7-8 hours) as the assignment progresses through the end of the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Illinois School Psychologist License and PEL are required
- Successful completion of a school-administered background check before start
- Experience in K-8 settings preferred
- The ability to handle a moderate caseload (84 IEPs, including 70 students in LRE1 and 12 in LRE2)
- Familiarity with IEP evaluation processes
- Comfortable collaborating on an interdisciplinary team
- Flexible, solutions-oriented, and efficient in a contract environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-quality IEP evaluations and manage related documentation
- Provide consultative support to teachers, staff, and families
- Collaborate with the Dean of Specialized Services and school teams
- Participate virtually in interviews (Zoom) and maintain communication with stakeholders
- Support inclusion and self-contained classroom environments
