About Us
Founded in September 1980, Chandlee Jewelers has proudly served the Athens and Oconee County communities for more than four decades. As a family-operated business, we have built a strong reputation for personalized service, exceptional craftsmanship, and lasting relationships with our customers.
Located in Oconee County, our store is known for custom jewelry design, quality fine jewelry, and in-house bench repair services. After more than 46 years in the industry, we remain committed to providing a knowledgeable, personal experience that reflects the trust our customers have placed in us for generations.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Jewelry Sales Professional to join our team. This is a strictly sales-focused position for someone who is confident working with fine jewelry and high-end timepieces and who understands how to build lasting relationships with clients.
The ideal candidate is an experienced jewelry professional who can step into the role and immediately contribute, particularly as we head into the holiday season. This is not an entry-level opportunity. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, polished, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a personalized, consultative sales experience while building and maintaining long-term client relationships
- Sell fine jewelry and high-end timepieces with confidence and expertise, while developing a strong understanding of our product lines, designers, and collections
- Cultivate repeat business through thoughtful client follow-up, including birthdays, anniversaries, special occasions, new arrivals, and previous purchases
- Maintain strong knowledge of luxury watches and watch movements, including brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Omega, and Baume & Mercier
- Assist with repair intake, appraisals, watch battery replacement, and other client needs while clearly communicating repair recommendations and specialized service requirements
- Maintain accurate customer and sales information within the store's systems and work confidently toward individual sales goals and commission opportunities
- Maintain a polished, professional presence and deliver an elevated client experience consistent with a luxury retail environment
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of current fine-jewelry sales experience with strong knowledge of fine jewelry and luxury products
- Experience in an independent, family-owned, or high-end jewelry environment strongly preferred; luxury retail experience with brands such as Rolex, Cartier, Omega, Roberto Coin, David Yurman, or similar is a plus
- Strong understanding of high-end timepieces and watch movements, with experience in repair intake, appraisals, and watch battery replacement highly valued
- Experience with Edge POS is highly preferred
- Jewelry credentials such as GIA, IGI, AGS, AJP, or similar certifications are highly preferred
- Proven ability to sell through relationships rather than simply processing transactions, with a demonstrated ability to generate repeat business
- Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable working in a commission driven environment with a strong desire to achieve sales goals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach to different clients and personalities
- Professional, polished, and confident, with a presence and communication style fitting for a luxury clientele
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to take initiative
A Relationship-Driven Sales Approach
Luxury jewelry sales go beyond the initial purchase. We value sales professionals who build lasting client relationships through thoughtful follow-up, personalized recommendations, and genuine clienteling, from remembering special occasions to reaching out when a new piece complements a previous purchase.
If you are motivated by building relationships, closing sales, and creating repeat business, this opportunity may be a strong fit.
