Accountant
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the company's financial operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure accurate employee compensation records.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and forecasting activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with internal departments to improve financial processes and provide accurate financial information for decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar accounting role.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and bookkeeping principles.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of tax preparation and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with audit support and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance or public accounting practices is a plus.
