Moving & Storage Laborer
We are seeking reliable, hardworking, and professional individuals to join our moving and storage operations team.
Responsibilities
- Safely handle, pack, wrap, load, unload, transport, and organize customers’ belongings.
- Properly protect furniture, boxes, appliances, and other items during handling and transit.
- Follow company safety procedures and moving best practices.
- Work efficiently and professionally as part of a team.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work environment.
- Assist with loading and unloading at customer locations and storage facilities.
- Travel between warehouses and job locations as required.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.
- Ability to travel independently between warehouses and job locations.
- English-speaking ability required for communication with customers, supervisors, and team members.
- Previous moving, warehouse, delivery, or physical labor experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely lift and carry heavy items.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Must be punctual, dependable, professional, and able to work well with others.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to protecting customers’ belongings.
Schedule
Flexible 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts may be available. Weekend availability may be required depending on operational needs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is dependable, physically capable, customer-service oriented, comfortable speaking English, and willing to travel between warehouses and job sites using their own reliable vehicle..
Responsibilities
- Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, cranes, and other heavy machinery in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory management using warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software to track stock levels, perform stock counts, and update records accurately.
- Handle materials safely through manual handling techniques, ensuring proper stocking, picking & packing, shipping & receiving, and order fulfillment processes.
- Support order picking and packing tasks using equipment such as order pickers and <PERSON> pickers to ensure timely delivery of customer orders.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently by following safety protocols and utilizing appropriate material handling equipment like load & unload tools and pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment by adhering to OSHA standards and safety regulations; use personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently.
- Assist in inventory control activities including stock rotation, cycle counts, and reconciling discrepancies to ensure accurate inventory levels.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on logistics planning, warehouse distribution tasks, and safety protocol adherence for optimal workflow.
Experience
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred but not mandatory; on-the-job training will be provided.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking & packing, and inventory management is highly desirable.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes or material handling equipment is a strong plus; certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (such as AS400 or similar platforms) and inventory management software is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards and proper PPE use is essential for maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic math skills are necessary for counting stock quantities and verifying shipments accurately.
- Warehouse supervisor experience or leadership skills are beneficial for those interested in advancing into supervisory roles in the future.
