Responsibilities for carpenter
- Performs minor masonry and concrete work
- Repair of doors, operators and door frames
- General installing, odd jobs and finish work on buildings
- Assisting other trades personnel with tasks
- Interpret and follow work orders and/or verbal instructions in order to complete assignments
- Troubleshoot repairs and construction problems to determine best work method
- Perform all types of carpentry maintenance, restoration, repairs and construction work, as directed
- Adhere to all company safety policies
- Selects and orders proper quality and quantity of materials necessary for the work
- A strong a product knowledge in wood care procedures and wood care products is essential
- Dismantles and removes damaged wooden structures and fixtures
- Checks accuracy of work with levels, plumb bobs, and framing squares and makes necessary adjustments
- Builds forms for concrete construction projects and constructs and erects scaffolding, platforms, and other support structures
- Frames walls and partitions and installs doors and windows
- Performs finishing work including installing interior and exterior trim
- Makes recommendations on construction materials needed, and assists with obtaining quotes
Carpenter Qualifications
- Considerable knowledge of methods, material & techniques in building construction, repair & remodeling
- Ability to understand & work from blueprints/drawings
- Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards & safe operation in the trade
- Knowledge of defects & flaws in construction and correction techniques
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three to five years of related experience as a journeyman-level craft worker
- Drivers license preferred
- Communicate daily to management the progress of assigned tasks
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
