Overview
Jacob’s Restaurant & Delicatessen is a busy neighborhood deli, and we’re looking for a reliable Deli Associate to join our team. In this role, you’ll prepare sandwiches and platters, slice meats, package orders, keep the prep area clean, and help serve customers during rushes. This is a fast-paced environment, so we’re looking for someone who can move quickly, follow directions, and work well with a team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, platters, and deli items according to menu standards
- Slice meats and cheeses, portion sides, and package orders neatly
- Assist customers at the counter with orders and basic questions
- Keep prep areas, counters, and equipment clean and sanitized
- Restock items, ingredients, and supplies as needed
- Help during busy periods by keeping orders moving quickly and accurately
- Follow food safety and cleanliness standards
- Work as part of a team to keep the deli running smoothly
Qualifications
- Deli or cashier experience is a plus (but we will train the right person!)
- Friendly, reliable, and customer-focused
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
