Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide excellent guest services to ensure a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservations using reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette, handle reservation requests, and provide wait times when necessary
- Maintain organized waitlists and communicate effectively with guests about their seating status
- Assist with restaurant table management systems to monitor table availability and occupancy
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness and adhering to health regulations during guest interactions
Skills
- Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service environment
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest relations professionally and courteously
- Excellent communication skills, including clear verbal communication and active listening
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS systems
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist calculations, and POS transactions
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety practices and restaurant operations to support smooth service flow
- Experience with phone communication, demonstrating proper phone etiquette in busy settings
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a fast-paced environment
