Job Overview
The Asphalt Paving Crew Member is responsible for supporting all aspects of asphault paving operations. This includes preparing job sites, assisting with paving equipment, and ensuring high-quality workmanship while maintaining a safe work environment. This is a physically demanding role that requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of job sites, including grading, cleaning, and setting up materials
- Support the paving crew in laying asphalt, including raking, shoveling, and smoothing surfaces
- Operate hand tools and small equipment such as tampers, shovels, and brooms
- Help direct traffic and ensure safe work zones when necessary
- Follow instructions from supervisors and equipment operators
- Maintain cleanliness of job sites and equipment
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company procedures
- Perform routine labor tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in asphalt paving, construction, or a related field
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting 50+ lbs and standing for long periods
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
- Basic understanding of construction safety practices
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Basic mechanical aptitude is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

- Underground utilities: 1 year (Preferred)
- Asphalt Paving: 3 years (Required)
