Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive science lessons aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating educational technology and hands-on laboratory activities.
- Design engaging instructional materials that accommodate various learning styles and promote active student participation.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment for middle school students.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and project-based assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing best practices in science education.
- Integrate IT tools and digital resources into lessons to enhance understanding of complex scientific concepts such as biochemistry, genetics, organic chemistry, and molecular biology.
- Support students’ academic advising, mentoring, and special education needs while fostering their curiosity about scientific research and laboratory techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, or physics are preferred.
- Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with a focus on science subjects.
- Strong knowledge of core scientific topics including cell biology, microbiology, genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, algebra, discrete math, differential equations, and molecular biology.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum content that adheres to educational standards while integrating technology-driven lessons.
- Experience with laboratory dissection techniques, research laboratory procedures, and science experimentation is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and collaboration with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Skilled in classroom management strategies to maintain discipline while encouraging student engagement.
- Familiarity with standardized testing protocols and educational compliance regulations relevant to middle school education.
- Ability to adapt lessons for different learning styles and special education requirements; experience working with students from diverse backgrounds is advantageous.
- Proficiency in instructional design, proofing educational materials for accuracy, and implementing IT-integrated lessons as a teacher.
