This full-time role runs from August 13, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours weekly. Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain prior to the contract start date)
- Previous experience working in a self-contained special education classroom, preferably at the middle school level
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance with federal/state special education requirements
- Skilled in differentiating instruction for a range of student abilities and needs
- Ability to foster a positive, respectful learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and skill levels
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and support professionals
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct classroom instruction to a caseload of approximately 12 students with mild to moderate exceptional needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with legal guidelines and student needs
- Work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and other staff in EC (Exceptional Children) and self-contained classrooms
- Maintain accurate student records and document progress toward IEP goals
- Engage with families to build supportive partnerships and promote student success
- Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
