KidsUnited is an early childhood development and soccer training center serving children aged 18 months to 10 years old. Our unique curriculum uses soccer as a fun and engaging vehicle to help children develop physical coordination, confidence, teamwork, communication skills, and positive character traits.

Position Summary
The Soccer Coach is responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate soccer classes that help children develop fundamental movement skills, soccer coordination, confidence, teamwork, and life skills. Coaches create a positive and energetic environment for children while building strong relationships with parents and upholding KidsUnited program standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead fun, high-energy soccer classes for children aged 18 months to 9 years.
- Follow the KidsUnited curriculum, lesson plans, and coaching methodology.
- Teach age-appropriate soccer fundamentals including dribbling, passing, shooting, movement, coordination, and teamwork.
- Support children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development through structured play-based activities.
- Develop body mastery, soccer coordination, confidence, communication skills, and positive behaviors through the KidsUnited curriculum.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for all participants.
- Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, respect, collaboration, and positive behavior among players.
- Build positive relationships with children and their families.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and development.
- Evaluate participant progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, progress notes, and other required documentation.
- Assist with special events, camps, clinics, games, and community outreach activities as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the continuous improvement of KidsUnited programs and coaching methods.
- Assist with facility setup, cleanup, and equipment management.
- Ensure all health, safety, and child protection policies are followed during classes and activities.
- Represent KidsUnited professionally and positively within the community.
Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- At least 6 months of youth soccer coaching experience; or
- At least 1 year of experience working with children combined with a soccer playing background.
- Passion for working with young children.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire children in a positive learning environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Dependable, professional, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Ability to pass required background screening.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must successfully complete the KidsUnited Coach Training Program.
- Must pass a criminal background check and all child safety screening requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be capable of performing the physical requirements of the position.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time positions available.
- Daytime, evening, and weekend hours may be required.
- Flexible scheduling based on program needs.
Training & Hiring Process
At KidsUnited, we are committed to providing every coach with the tools, training, and support needed to succeed. All newly hired coaches begin with a 3-day paid onsite training program at our KidsUnited facility.
During this training period, coaches receive hands-on instruction from experienced corporate trainers and learn the KidsUnited curriculum, coaching methods, classroom management techniques, and child development principles that make our program unique. New coaches will also have opportunities to assist with and lead portions of classes while demonstrating their ability to engage children and deliver a positive learning experience.
Training Program Details
- Duration: Three full days of onsite training
- Compensation: Paid training at the applicable training wage
- Instruction: Hands-on coaching education led by KidsUnited corporate trainers
- Evaluation: Coaches are assessed on professionalism, communication skills, classroom presence, and ability to implement the KidsUnited curriculum
Next Steps
Upon successful completion of the training program and approval from KidsUnited leadership, coaches transition to their regular coaching position and pay rate. This process ensures that every member of our coaching team is confident, prepared, and equipped to provide outstanding experience for our young players and their families.
