Job Description
The Operations Supervisor provides leadership and supervises direct labor employees involved in the manufacturing of fasteners. Manages assigned company resources (personnel, equipment and materials) to achieve work schedules and satisfy customer requirements in an efficient and cost effective manner, meeting all safety and quality requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively leads a team of employees and manages performance by setting clear expectations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring (or assisting in candidate selection as needed), training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving personnel issues while maintaining a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Complies with and enforces all company safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment, maintaining a clean and organized work area, operating equipment safely, correcting unsafe conditions, and ensuring all employees adhere to safety and housekeeping standards across the department.
Maintain appropriate employee scheduling, including staffing to meet production requirements as well as managing vacation and time-off requests in alignment with plant policies.
Provide effective supervision, coaching, and communication to ensure alignment with plant goals, foster employee engagement, and support a positive work environment. Communicate all relevant plant and operational issues to employees and ensure understanding.
Serve as the shift-to-shift communication link, ensuring continuity of operations and alignment of priorities between shifts.
Manage the movement and visibility of product through the production process, ensuring awareness of product status at all times and organizing workflow for smooth and efficient operations.
Schedule jobs to maximize machine and operator efficiencies, manage production flow, and report capacity constraints to production control

Required Skills & Characteristics
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including maintaining a positive work environment
Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and be accountable for team safety, quality, and productivity
Must be a self-motivated, self-starter and committed to continuous learning/improvement
Working knowledge of ERP software, AS400/Mapcis preferred, but not required
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or a related discipline highly preferred.
1 – 5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting is highly preferred, minimum 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
