About Desert Services, Inc.
Desert Services is seeking a reliable, adaptable Construction Floater to support various teams and job sites as needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and has a strong willingness to step in wherever help is needed—from general labor tasks to assisting skilled trades.
As a floater, you will play a critical role in keeping projects moving efficiently by providing support across multiple areas of our construction services operations. For example, you could be working in general labor role for two days and then cover a vacation absence in a completely other division (which you will be trained in).
Responsibilities
- Assist with general construction labor tasks across multiple job sites
- Support crews in areas such as temp fence installation, delivery of portable toilets, servicing of portable toilets, driving, and general labor
- Transport materials, tools, and equipment as needed
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow all safety standards and company procedures
- Step into different roles as needed to support project timelines
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
- Follow all company safety policies and traffic laws
- Provide professional customer service at job sites
Requirements
- Previous construction or general labor experience preferred (but not required)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different tasks and environments
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Clean driving record
- Strong commitment to safety
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb in and out of truck multiple times per shift
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme Arizona heat
- Ability to work 8–10 hour shifts on active construction sites
Schedule
- 8-hour shifts
- Extended hours as needed
- Overtime available
