Matthew 25 is the only full-time center in Allen County offering medical, dental, vision, mental health counseling, and prescription services at no cost to qualified patients. We are a volunteer-driven health practice supported by dedicated staff, providers, and community members.
Matthew 25 receives no governmental monies and depends entirely on gifts from individuals, churches, organizations, and corporations, as well as grants from foundations.

Position Title: Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist
Department: Front Desk
Reports to: Front Desk Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
This role of front desk receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients. The role will assess patient concerns, determine urgency, and appropriate care pathway. This position requires strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to manage patient flow efficiently while delivering compassionate care.

Duties/Responsibilities or Essential Functions
Front Desk Responsibilities
· Greet and welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion
· Check patients in and out, ensuring accurate documentation and record retrieval
· Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
· Answer and triage incoming phone calls
· Assist patients with forms, questions, and general inquiries
· Maintain and update patient records in EMR systems
· Handle patient concerns with professionalism
· Provide information about services, hours, and clinic procedures
· Accept and document donations as applicable
· Assist with training volunteers on front desk procedures
Front-End Clinical / Triage Responsibilities
· Assess patient concerns, determine urgency, and appropriate care pathway.
· Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding patient needs and priorities
· Conduct basic intake notes and document in EMR
· Provide guidance to patients based on established protocols
· Assist with phone triage and patient inquiries using clinical knowledge
Note: This role is not responsible for back-office clinical duties such as rooming patients, taking vitals, or assisting with procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities
· Fluency in Spanish and English (required)
· Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills

Education and Experience
· Experience with patient triage or intake preferred
· Customer service experience strongly preferred
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
· Occasional standing and movement between front desk areas
· Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
