Position Overview
Rallenti Pasta is a small, fast-growing dried pasta manufacturer in Portland. We are seeking a dynamic, hardworking, individual to support our Production Manager and Chief Operating Officer.
The Production Supervisor will work in conjunction with the Production Manager on all aspects of daily operations including overseeing all aspects of pasta production, ensuring efficient operations, consistent product quality, with special emphasis on quality assurance and food safety standards. The Supervisor will help maintain our SQF, GFCO, USDA Organic and Oregon Kosher Certifications.
The Production Supervisor is a valued member of our team and will report directly to the COO and the Production Manager and will work closely with the rest of the leadership team on day to day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Production Oversight (In Coordination with Production Manager)
- Monitor production and packaging work-in-progress to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot equipment or process issues in real time
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of all production equipment
- Oversee operations of the facility to ensure efficient production, quality control, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety
- Deliver materials to production facilities using a forklift
Quality & Compliance
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and quality control standards
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Conduct product testing, environmental monitoring, GMP inspections, sanitation verification, facility inspections, audits, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead the Food Safety Team and train employees on food safety, quality, GMPs, and certification requirements to ensure ongoing compliance and program effectiveness
- Work with Production Manager and COO to conduct SQF, GFCO, and Organic audits; taking the lead as necessary.
Operational Efficiency
- Manage shipping and receiving activities including outbound product tracking, incoming raw material, ingredient, and packaging inspections, warehouse quality controls, product specifications, labeling, traceability records, and quality reporting
- Oversee the Master Sanitation Schedule and verify sanitation effectiveness to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Operations, Production, and Warehouse teams to identify, investigate, and resolve food safety and quality issues while supporting efficient plant operations
Qualifications
- 2–4+ years of experience in food production or manufacturing, preferably in pasta or specialty foods
- Strong attention to detail with good situational awareness to notice and solve problems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Forklift experience is a plus - we will train if needed
- Degree in Microbiology or Food Science Technology preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred but not required
- Certified PCQI, HACCP, GMP, or SQF is preferred but not required
Pay: $60,000.00 per year
