Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead nursing services for a respected senior living/healthcare community in Memphis, TN. The DON will oversee all aspects of nursing operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and the highest standard of resident care.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct nursing services to deliver quality care.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including performance management.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Coordinate resident admissions, discharges, and care evaluations.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, physicians, and staff.
- Develop and monitor departmental budgets and supply usage.
- Lead quality assurance programs and staff education initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee, in good standing.
- 5–7 years of long-term care experience, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of geriatric care, rehabilitation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs (and assist with resident transfers when needed).
- Work primarily indoors in a healthcare setting, with occasional exposure to body fluids, odors, and chemicals.
