Dog Groomer – The Waggery (Southtown, San Antonio)
The Waggery is a modern pet boutique and grooming studio located in the heart of Southtown. We are looking for an experienced groomer who delivers high‑quality work and loves creating a calm, positive experience for pets. The ideal candidate is confident with breed‑standard cuts, patient with nervous pups, and committed to maintaining a safe, sanitary grooming environment.

Responsibilities
- Full-service grooming: washing, drying, hair trimming, nail clipping, ear cleaning; specialized treatments and add-ons: de-matting, de-shedding, brush out, flea and skunk treatments, paw pad shaving, paw balm
- Deliver breed‑specific and owner‑requested cuts with consistency and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized grooming station throughout the day
- Communicate clearly with pet parents about grooming needs, coat condition, and aftercare
- Ensure all pets are handled safely, gently, and with compassion
- Follow salon sanitation protocols and safety standards
- Work collaboratively with the boutique team
- Manage grooming appointments efficiently to stay on schedule
Qualifications
- 1+ years of professional grooming experience required (portfolio or photos encouraged)
- Strong knowledge of breed cuts, coat types, and grooming techniques
- Ability to groom dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Certification from a grooming school is a plus but not required
