Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Director is responsible for overseeing all clinical and operational aspects of the practice. This leadership role combines patient care responsibilities with strategic planning, staff development, business growth, and compliance management. The ideal candidate is a licensed Physical Therapist with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
- Provide high-quality physical therapy evaluations, treatment plans, and interventions.
- Ensure evidence-based practices and exceptional patient outcomes.
- Establish and maintain clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Monitor patient satisfaction and continuously improve service delivery.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor physical therapists and support staff.
- Foster a collaborative , positive, and patient-focused work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and professional development.
- Promote employee engagement and accountability.
Operations Management
- Oversee daily clinic operations, scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Ensure efficient patient flow and optimize clinic productivity.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to support operational excellence.
- Manage clinic budgets, expenses, and performance metrics.
Business Development
- Build and maintain relationships with physicians, healthcare providers, employers, and community organizations.
- Develop and execute marketing and outreach initiatives to grow patient volume.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and enhance the clinic's presence in the community.
- Represent the clinic at networking and community events.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and professional regulations, including HIPAA and payer requirements.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and billing practices.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor key performance indicators.
- Prepare for audits and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Current Pennsylvania Physical Therapist license in good standing or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in outpatient orthopedics and rehabilitation.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or clinic management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of clinic operations, business development, and financial management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive exceptional patient outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience opening or managing a startup clinic.
- Experience with EMR systems and practice management software.
- Strong community outreach and physician relationship-building skills.
