POSITION SUMMARY
The Medication Coordinator (AL)is responsible for administering medications, monitoring residents’ health, and documenting care for Assisted Living residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to the following:

Coordinate medication administration schedules for residents according to prescribed dosages and timing.

Ensure accurate documentation of medication distribution, including maintaining updated records of residents’ medication lists and administration logs.

Monitor medication storage and inventory levels, coordinating refills and supplies as needed.

Ensure safety protocols are in place to ensure residents’ safety.

Monitor residents’ health and any changes in behavior, possible side effects of medication and communicate to appropriate leadership.

Respect and uphold residents’ dignity, privacy, and independence.
-
Collaborate with other members of the care team to provide comprehensive care and support to residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience:
-
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare settings, preferably as a medication aide or medication technician.

Knowledge, Skills &Abilities:

Exceptional communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with residents and staff through both verbal and written means.

Utilize electronic devices and software provided, especially electronic health records.

Understanding of basic healthcare principles or practices.
-
Familiarity with medication management protocols, including knowledge of common medications, dosages, and administration techniques.

Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control measures.
-
Awareness of common health conditions affecting older adults.
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
-
Capability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations.
-
Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.

Demonstrate excellent customer service skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships.
